They want you to switch companies for better processing rates. Said it was important to have EMV Smart Chip for compliance. May 27, 2015, 10:40 am Got a call from Erin at Merchant Services. The number she gave me was 866-644-0028 x2508, but the caller ID showed "Manchester NH 603-637-4074." She said she was calling about a reimbursement review on a credit card. When I asked her for more specific information on the account, she started stuttering and gave me extremely vague and general answers. I will not call her back. This feels like a scam. Yeah, since my boss is sooooo readily available! His CLIENTS are lucky they sometimes get to talk to him!!! You thinks he's going to break his back to get back to a spammer/telemarketer? That's mistake number one b\c my Merchant Services are on a first name basis with me and I'm the direct contact on our account. Phone number and all. July 28, 2016, 4:25 pm Just got a call from "Corporate Office Merchant Services". The CallerID showed from my local area code. But the lady gave me 866-644-0028 x2188. She was calling about non-compliance fees (EMV fees) showing up on my account. She wanted to know if I was going to be in the office next week to have a meeting about this. I told her I was already compliant and already did the online self-eval questionnaire. Strange coincidence though, I had just upgraded my terminal last week to an EMV capable machine. She said that's probably why it's being flagged for non-compliance. I don't trust this lady and don't trust anyone wanting to discuss my financials.
