Just an extortion call using fake threats of tax evasion to scare you into paying them money as quickly as they can. Time and fear are their only weapons as they need you scared and responsive. Just refuse their threats and hang up. They don't have any connection to the real government and the actual government has made public statements about this. May 4, 2015, 12:13 am A fraudulent IRS debt call. They will use threats of arrest from other government agencies or lawsuits to reclaim money that is not really owed. They are praying on your honesty and good nature to believe them. Thick Indian accents and probably not even living inside the US when the call is made. They are randomly calling people. May 7, 2015, 11:35 am A total scam from the IRS. There is no way you owe these people any money at all. They are so fake I had to laugh. They spoke to me in a white man's English sounding name with a strong Indian accent that makes it almost impossible to understand what they are saying to you. Ridiculous frauds. May 15, 2015, 1:32 pm I got a call from this number to advise me that the IRS was going to file a lawsuit against me for unpaid taxes and fines. They said I was guilty of tax evasion and needed to pay them immediately. What's incredible about them is they would ask me to pay them with prepaid cards from local stores which is so obviously not how the government operates that I had to laugh at the caller. May 21, 2015, 1:21 pm I got a call from this # 202-738-1919 saying they are the IRS and i am being sued. I checked the internet on phone number and they are not real. Also i heard on the radio last month that they are making a lot of scam calls, beware it is not real. |
