Same thing happen to me after I signed up with Dish network. On my checking account shows a charge from "TechSuprt (877)813-1264", they charged me $12.95 for thing I can't remember. I tried to call back to find out who that is, and all computer answered. So, I called my bank to replace a new card and dispute the charge. It's a scam!

Got another call today stating that Microsoft tech's had detected error reports sending info on viruses, and/or
malware coming from my computer. I told him (Tom?) that I didn't have a computer. He said "We show that you have computer with Microsoft." I told him again that I didn't have a computer and there must be some false info given to him. THEN I HUNG UP!

Obtained an unlisted number, asked for a credit card number and payment for student loan, this all before the caller could prove thier lagitimacy. "Red Flag".

Posted: November 24, 2014, 9:09 pm
They are a scam! I have no student loans. I have not had a student loan for 20 years, and any I did have, are long since paid off, in full, with no arrears. They cannot legitimately be calling me about something I do not have. If they are a legit company their company name would should on the caller ID- and not as "Unavailable" .
They can hear me flushing the toilet, filing their calls and messages right where they belong. Bottom feeding, low life, sob's, go away and die.

This scammer calls numbers on the national do not call registry in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They further violate the TCPA by failing to have an operator on the line when the call is answered, and then violate the TCPA still further by playing a recorded message without an operator on the line to stop or pause the recording. In addition, they violate the TCPA by refusing to provide a phone number and physical address when asked. Their recording is the same warning that this is your last warning to get your interest rates and payments lowered. ... Read More

received a call 11/24/14. I did not answer but it has repeatedly called for more than a week. It is obviously a scam. I hapaned to take an identity theft class today about phone calls such as this. When you answer they are able to get into your phone operating system and hack into your e-mail etc to get personal information about you. At this point I am going to go back to a landline and only use my cell for friends. I have had to many scam phone calls this year.

These people have called me so many times over the last 6 months, it is feeling like harassment. They say I have recently been on their job website and they are just checking in with me. I have told them countless times, I have NEVER been on their website; I have had the same career for the last 20 years and am not looking to change.

I have told them to take my number off their lists and to NEVER call me again. Guess what? It hasn't worked. I got another call this morning from them!

Same as everyone else, repeated calls, never leaving a voicemail. Sometimes I answer and there's just breathing on the other line. They said they were Verizon promo or something like that, I told them I need to the calls to stop immediately, not in 30 days, and they said they'd see what they can do.

Big scam in the US for pc tech support. The purpose of the call is to trick you with fake services and then offer to sell you tech support subscriptions that are misleading and fake for hundreds of dollars. Some times they will try to sell you software that is actually free for money FTC is continuously dealing with them.

When I called a few weeks later to see why I had not yet received my refund I was told that disreputable people had been hired and made promises that could not be kept (and had subsequently been released by One Source Tech Support). They have been calling me for a while off and on. I got a voicemail yesterday and I called them back. They told me they weren'g Comcast, but were working WITH Comcast to settle accounts. They wanted my info to "check my Comcast account status" and I didn't give it to them, but they knew my last name (I have a prepaid phone so it wouldn't have come up on Caller ID) and knew my account balance. Others have said that Comcast says this is a scam. But how would they know my account details to the penny? I'm confused.

Medical compensation packages for women who may have experienced medical problems due to taking birth control pills. They basically file insurance claims on your behalf that are inflated and take a cut of the final package settlement if you actually get one.

This number called twice today but I did not answer. If I don't recognize the number I have the answering machine pick up.....Caller did not leave messages.

Posted: November 22, 2014, 4:52 pm
Everyday for a week now. I see a number I don't recognize, I pick up, sit in total silence, and fro the other end to pick do something. If they say "hello, hi, anyone there, etc." probably someone I MIGHT want to talk to. Unfortunately, my son picked up and they refused to divulge any information, except they wanted to talk to me directly.

Normally these phone numbers are an autodialer that grabs a call center attendants attention, if you speak first. (voice activated). If nothing is heard after 10-15 seconds it automatically hangs up. That is usually ... Read More

It really annoys me that non-profit organizations are exempt from the DNC list. People who don't want to be called at all should be respected with no calls allowed. They are allowing these organizations in because they know exploiting people works to some degree. Most people would just choose no calls bankrupting some of these organizations which may be a good idea, because most of them are companies now with little percentage of their donations actually helping people.

Offering a free cruise for answering some questions in a survey. Sounds too good to be true in my books. I hung up and blocked the number.

Posted: November 21, 2014, 9:15 pm
This a huge scam. They fake issues with your computer to build trust so they can sell you expensive memberships. They make millions of dollars a year doing this. They offer free software which they charge you for and sell you tech support warranties which you won't need because they don't actually fix computers they just lie to you about problems and then lie to you about the solutions. A big scam praying mostly off the elderly with little computer experience.

At 6:38 pm this evening, I received exactly the same type of call as Mickie listed right above this message. I knew from the moment the caller began speaking that this was a scam. The male caller's accent was so strong I could hardly understand him. He kept insisting that I get on my computer so he could assist me in enabling Windows to update properly. A rude woman called from this number and claimed to be representing a company called Global Tech.

She mentioned something about updating our free listing on Google Maps (how is that a service exactly? Do they type for you or what?) and had trouble explaining what exactly they do as a company.

This caller is obviously a fraud and a scammer.

When someone calls you out of the blue, from another country, and can't competently articulate who they are and what they do, they have no business talking to you.
