They called me 7 times in 2 days. Ridiculous. Says I won a vacation. Sounds like BS.

FTC has been clear. Reduced credit card rate offers over the phone that require you to enter your number in are illegal and not coming from real companies. This is fraud. These people are trying to pull a fast one on you with lies about reductions in rates. No reductions exist this easily. Your card company will send you papers or tell you when you call them , they will not call you ask for your number. They already have it on file.

Sick Kids Lottery Hospital. Lottery tickets for upcoming draw. I entered a heart & stroke foundation contest after giving to their charity, recently winning a prize I might add, and now i get these calls too. Not sure if they sell the names of people making donations or not. Perhaps, selling your info is the treatment you get for being a prize winner.

I told them to take me off of the call list. The heavy accented indian guy told me that for $500 he would take me off of the list. Ever since then I have been calling non-stop and making rude comments towards them. I once called 70 times within the hour.

This is Jersey Central Power & Light trying to inform you that you your bill is past due. Not a scam

Posted: December 20, 2014, 6:31 pm
Caller tells you to press 1 to speak to a rep to lower your credit card interest rates. Also wants you to enter in your credit card over the phone. Big scam that the FTC is after regularly. National problem for years with this caller.

Posted: December 20, 2014, 6:29 pm
Not really Microsoft techs. This is a misleading tech support sales campaign which the FTC has repeatedly forced to issue refunds. They probably just change their company name to keep the scam running. They try to sell you free software and 9 year tech support memberships after tricking you that something is wrong with your computer.

Posted: December 20, 2014, 6:24 pm
Caller ID said "Senior Assistance" and the call was about free medical devices with coupons as others have already stated. I'm not sure if this is a scam or not. I would suggest that it isn't. Just misleading. I wonder if the device is actually made so cheap that the free shipping is a lie and you actually pay for the device. Perhaps they use a really cheap envelope to ship and pocket a few bucks for each order. Millions of calls and you're probably rolling in greenbacks.

Posted: December 20, 2014, 6:20 pm
Pre-approved loans over the phone like this are illegal is most states if not the whole country. The foreign accent of India is probably a dead giveaway that this is a scam. Many people are getting these types of calls with Indian accented people scamming people.

Columbia House DVD calling with specials via AT&T. Online mail order company for movies and tv shows. The old CD mail order company.

Calls my phone no less that 3-4 times a day. No one ever responds when I answer. Comes across as "wireless". Now that I know it's a telemarketing firm, I'm ticked off that they're calling me so much & not even speaking up when I answer.
What's the purpose of calling over & over to sell something if you won't even talk when the prospective customer answers? It's harassing!

A man with an Indian accent called and said I'm being sued by the IRS for tax evasion and if I don't give him my lawyer's information the FBI is coming to my door in 45 minutes to arrest me and seize my home and assets.

Posted: December 19, 2014, 5:49 pm
DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFO. One day they are UPS, the next FedEx, then various other companies to get names, titles, mailing addresses, ext. numbers, etc.....for what-to SELL to other telemarketers? That's my guess. There's got to be some profit in this for them.

Got a phone call about advertising in Country Club Directory in. I told them i wasnt interested in advertising my Tinting business. She told me she may be able to do it cheaper. Dont worry I tracked the ANI and traced the callcenters location. I have a team readying for deployment to infiltrate their facility and bring them to some good ol American Justice. They won't be calling anymore.

Don't worry about this caller. The IRS is not demanding money from you. Total losers trying to scare you into paying them your hard earned money. Never believe anyone on the phone who says you owe money. You need documentation or it's not legit.

I fought with Bell Canada to get the 2.99 reversed which I was able to do, however, how can an outfit as big as Bell Canada allow this to happen?...I also contacted the fraud squad of the RCMP who said that they are investigating the company Triton Global associated with this number 807-788-1246.

I received a call from 855-691-0193 on Tuesday. I did not answer because I did not recognize the number. Today I got a call from 855-691-0191. I decided to answer. Said hello - no response. Waited a few seconds and silence, so I hung up. After researching on-line, several people have said this is a call from Charter Communications. We don't even have Charter available in our area. Got a call from this number and was transferred to a different person each time I stated that I could not understand what they were saying. The caller said they were from MegaMillions and I told them I didn't play the lottery. They said I had won 3rd place in a raffle because I shopped at WalMart and they tried to send me notification by mail. This scammer calls numbers on the national do not call list in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They further violate the TCPA by failing to have an operator on the line when the call is answered, playing a recorded message without an operator on the line to stop the playback, any by refusing to provide a phone number or address when asked. Their scam is the same tired last notification of your opportunity to lower your interest rates and credit card payments. This is clearly a scam just based on the number of violations of the TCPA. Woman named Michaela claimed to be from Hacienda Home Center and said they had talked to us several times in the past. We had never talked to them before and told her so. She called me a liar, which I echoed back to her, then she rudely hung up.

Dayton Daily News selling subscriptions. Same thing as previous comment. I bought a subscription to this paper because of a charitable donation that was attached to the purchase. I really regret it now. Calls are not worth it.

A debt collection call regarding an old vacation payment from 2011 which I never took. When you begin to question them they become very combative and rude. Best to avoid this caller at all costs.

Bloomingdale's / Macy's Card Services. I don't have a card with this company and they told me I did. They kept asking for more personal information the more I refused to co-operated including my ssn# which is ridiculous as I can't even verify their id.

Posted: December 17, 2014, 6:30 pm
It is Bloomingdales but you would never know because they don't leave messages (just call repeatedly until you pick up) and then it's an automated message. When you call that number back, they never identify themselves as Bloomingdales, but simply ask for your account number which I refused to do. I called the number on my card and then found out I indeed had missed a payment. It was frustrating to figure out.

213.271.9210 called and did not leave a message. Not sure who or what they want. Legitimate organizations leave names and numbers on how to be reached on voice mails. Curious.

Fake "customer service" for various car dealers. If you call your car dealer directly they will tell you that they have no idea who called you as they are not affiliated wit them. Something is very wrong here.

Debt collection agency that mostly works for car insurance companies for late payments or policy non-payments. If you cancel a policy without payment they may start coming after you.

Indian accented man , possibly pakistani telling me that I have problems with my computer. Big time famous con job here. They have been attacked by the FTC many times and forced to issues refunds to people because they are very misleading and selling free stuff or fake tech support memberships. That's the point of the call, to make you think they care, and then sell you free stuff for hundreds of dollars.

A duct cleaning company calling with promotional offers. Mass lists must be used because many people getting these calls don't have ducts or don't own the property they are living in. Often has an Indian accent.

Card services scumbags trying to steal your credit card. Never trust anyone with your credit card information unless you called the number on the back of your card directly yourself. Banks do not ask for verification over the phone. The rare instances they would it would only be security questions or birthdate. If not don't trust it at all.

Posted: December 17, 2014, 11:45 am
Card service scammers pretending to be the real credit card companies with fake offer for reducing your credit card interest rates. They tell you to type your number into the phone, but this is bs as they would already know your number and just ask you if you wanted the deal or not. They are skimming the numbers through touchtone so be on alert.

Scheme to sell you vacations. I think the free tickets line is just to get you excited about taking a vacation and then the they drop a "deal" on you at the end instead so you 'll want to buy it thinking it's still better than nothing.

Scam caller where they tell you that you've won a free cruise to the bahamas or are eligbale for a contest for one if you fill out a survey they have for you. Just a way to trick you into answering their questions. I never handled the full call , but i have heard stories from other similar numbers that they actually try to sell you the vacation at the end after pretending you are winning one.
