The caller threatens a pending lawsuit for tax evasion and fraud. He tries to legitimize it with a fake badge number. This must be stopped as it threatens so many of our seniors who take these predators seriously.

A junk debt collection agency called CBV. I got a letter from them once about an unpaid Fedex cross broder charge that I refused to pay. All they did was send me a letter which I threw in the garbage and ignored. I've ripped off FedEX at least 5 times with their cross border charge and they always send me a letter which I throw in the garbage and ignore. It's a giant racket so I refuse since I already paid international shipping. These people always go away. Bills for like $15 are not worth their time as paying some one to ... Read More

This was a get rich quick at home scam. They said I could make over $10,000 every 10 days from home running my own business. I don't believe anyone calling me on the phone about money deals, especially when they sound this easy. I will call this a scam as they only people getting rich quick are the scammers.

A fake irs agent calling with threats of arrest if I don't comply with their demands for back tax payments and fines for tax evasion. They also gave me a badger number, but they sounded like a stupid Indian person with a terribly thick accent. I will not be paying them anything and will block form now on.

Extortion call. Caller pretends to be from the IRS or some other government organization (homeland security or DEA) and demands money with the threat of being arrested for non-compliance. They are possibly using voice ip computer technology over the internet to disguise their real location and avoid being prosecuted. They do appear to be from India as that seems to be the most common accent you hear in the voice.

This number belongs to a SCAMMER claiming to be from the IRS and threatening action about a tax claim. It's fraudulent and the number is from the state of Virginia where they don't even have a regional office. Stay away from this idiot!

We get calls once or twice a day -- from all sorts of scammers -- when will people stop answering these calls? If there weren't enough fools out there who do, there'd be no more attempts! #1 Rule: either NEVER answer these types of calls, or leave the phone off the hook! I recently re-registered on the Do Not Call list (for Texas). If it were up to me, I'd get rid of the land line altogether! This idiot left no message, and originally was given a "Safe" badge on Safecaller.com -- I added a "Unsafe" badge on that site!

This scammer calls numbers on the national do not call registry in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They further violate the TCPA by failing to have an operator on the line when the call is answered and further by playing a recorded message without an operator on the line. They fail to provide a phone number or address when asked because they do not let you speak to an operator, further violating the TCPA. Their recording is all about a get-rick-quick scheme, most likely a pyramid scheme. They never mention any product or service they are selling, just ... Read More

Caller ID said "Student Loan Center" and they left a message on my voicemail that said they could help to reduce student debt up to 40%. The call was automated. I paid off all my student debt over 8 years ago the call is useless to me even if it wasn't a scam. I can only assume this is some sort of debt consolidation or high interest loan to pay off the student loan and then get you to pay them with smaller long term payments. Or it's just a prepaid loan scam with a new name. Blocking now.

The 876 area code is in Jamaica, is NOT TOLL FREE, and has been linked to a form of telephone fraud known as the "one ring scam". The person perpetuating the scam calls the victim via a robodialer or similar means, sometimes at odd hours of the night, then hangs up when the phone is answered with the hope that they will be curious enough to call the number back. When the victim does this, an automatic $19.95 international call fee is charged to their account, as well as $9.00/min thereafter. This company is "Equinox" and they are a third party affiliate for a number of banks and insurance companies. If you call the number back you will get an automated system which will eventually give you a menu to have yourself removed form their calling list system. The calls are most likely related to credit card insurance which is often a giant rip off because credit card companies erase your illegal transactions anyway.

Fraudulent callers faking their identities as card services. They will offer lower credit card interest rates as a way to trick you into giving them your card number. Often times this type of scam is call the "Rachel From Card Services Scam" and it's quite famous. The FTC had to run a contest specifically with this caller in mind trying to stop them with clever new solutions.

A scam which credit card companies have made public statements about. They are heavily regulated and can't offer you deals over the phone like this. Just received a call from these guys. They called 15 times today. He only offered me a $5,000 grant because I had been selected from a survey I completed. I asked him what survey and he rambled off some nonsense. Then I asked why the number he was calling from didn't show up (all government phones do)..I'm not going to bore everyone with the long drawn out story, just be careful this is definitely someone interested in taking your hard earned money from you.

The IRS does not contact people on the phone in this manner. The caller making threats like this is very unprofessional and very unlike the government to make because they will usually just show up and arrest you if it's an actual serious problem and even in those cases they usually give you a long period of warnings. These people seem very young and uneducated and very aggressive and arrogant. The gentleman on the phone became very angry at me when I questioned him.

Some person claiming to be receiving all kinds of error messages from my computer over the internet and that I may have a virus infection that needs to be removed with their assistance. They seem to want to install a remote access connection to my computer after telling me that certain admin panel errors are evidence of the infection. This scam is famous for years from what I've read and id getting worse as they make a lot of money selling fake memberships for tech support.
