Energy company National Grid trying to get me to switch energy companies. They asked to see a recent bill and get some personal information from me to to discuss potential price savings I could receive. This is just a cold call by a energy company to get you to switch. If you do switch you would probably get your old company calling you later to switch again.

I was called about a loan debt from the "Compass Bank" which was owed immediately before legal paperwork was about to be filed. They said I took out a loan in 2010 and need to hurry to Walmart to use a prepaid card to send them $1500 immediately to stop the paperwork from being completed. I spoke to my lawyer and he said this is a scam that needs to be ignored. Nothing has ever been sent to my home to address any debts and that legally needs to happen at least once in order to make a valid claim of debt ... Read More

I used to have a negative balance with paypal, but have since cleared it up. This must be some kind of mistake or computer update problem that needs to update. I will allow the update to run it naturla course and not bother with this issue anymore. Legit call, but out of date.

A Mexican family scam. They will lie about injuries, car accidents, purchase delivery problems, or needing a ride from the airport after guilting you that you don't like helping your relatives. Elderly people may be at high risk of falling for this scam. They could be involved with kidnapping or Mexican cartels.

This is a scam. They wanted to verify a card number I no longer have. I called Wells Fargo directly myself and they told me that they hadn't made the call and that the card the other person spoke to me avout was in fact not a valid card anymore. High risk caller. Scam alert to anyone reading this. The agent told me that had no red flags on my account and nothing was wrong. Big fraud attempt here so be careful!!

This is definitely some kind of billing scam. I tried to call it back on my prepaid mobile phone, but they message told me that I didn't have enough money in my account to complete the call. Lucky I Guess for being too lazy to refill my account funds,,So I would be cautious about ever being curious about this caller.

I was called with a warning about 2 fraudulent transactions that were made using my credit card. They told me to call them back "using the number on the back of the card" to verify all the transaction information with them. Told me to have my card information ready when I called. Said they were "Citibank Fraud Services." All worked out as the fraudulent transactions have been dealt with and removed from my account.

Scumbags saying I owe $1500 and will charge me $2500 if i waste their time in court fighting it. Sounds like a perfect excuse to scare people into paying. I call this extortion in my books. All my debts are paid up so they can do whatever they want. I don't believe anything will happen and it's all a giant bluff.

some advice for anyone reading this. If anyone claims to be from a government department with threats of arrest or litigation of you don't send money immediately, then this is a scam. The government does not make calls like this whatsoever. If the government is going to arrest you then they will just show up unannoucned to do so. And they don't do that over debts. Debtors prisons were outlawed ages ago. This is some kind of scammer from India I am sure.

Automated message says that homes in the usa are broken into every 8 seconds. Sounds scary. I better install a stupid sign on my lawn right away so I can be safe. The sign will save me, not the security system. Total rip off. Wasting people's time and money on junk.

Claims to be calling from "Merchant Choice" about updates that need to be made to the credit card processing terminals for security purposes. Told me they needed all my account information for the merchant account. Must think I am a complete idiot because this is ridiculously over the top to think I will just give that information out to a stranger from a company I haven't even heard of.

These people tricked me out of $350 for a fee on a pre-paid loan. I feel really stupid now. The loan was supposed to be for an unsecured loan of $1000. They got me to use a prepaid money transfer card and now they say due to my bad credit I have to send more money and then wait longer for the taxes and fixes to pass. A complete joke. Totally arrogant thieves.

Claimed to be "American Credit Assistance." calling to verify personal information, I gave them prepaid credit card giftcard number. They switched me around to a couple different people and one was called a "financial advisor." Eventually I hung up as I can't bothered,
However, a week later I got a letter in the mail from another bank requesting personal information from me like SSN for a credit card. My credit report shows 3 credit card applications in my name on the day of the first call. Definitely some kind of criminal activity going on here.
