Call offering a $9,000 grant. Male with Middle Eastern accent, reading from a script. All he had was my number, not even my name. Said I was selected by some democratic survey of taxpayers. Got upset when I told him I would not be giving him any info over the phone. Figured if gov't wanted to give me $9,000, it could afford a postage stamp. He didn't have info to mail me about grant info. I gotta quit entering PCH sweepstakes. Warning: I have also received scam calls (they knew my name) regarding something seriously wrong with my computer, though it was ... Read More

They continue to call my work cell, do not leave messages and when I answer and tell them they cannot contact me on this # as it is a work line they hang up and call back. I have no outstanding debt with this company and therefore have told them I have reported them and contacted my lawyer. They still don't stop

I don't know that's it's credit collections that calls, but it's a foreign man who always says that he is going to connect my call(when he's the one who calls me) and I just hang up on him. He sounds like a man who told me that I was having problems with my computer. He even raised his voice to me, at which point I told him what to do with a computer.

Had missed calls from a couple of numbers starting 0777 . Hid my ID and called then back but number not recognized. Other number was 07774459710. Don't trust these numbers but nothing showing up when doing a web search. Could it be a Skype number?

I heard an automated message that told me to press 1 to get a newer lower interest rate on my credit card. It never said what brand the credit card was. Wanted to connect me to an agent to begin the approval process. I've heard all about this scam before and received this type of call in the past. It's all a scam run my computers. Don't trust it.

This was a very suspicious debt collector, a male caller. They wanted me to verify some of my personal information which I didn't feel comfortable with offering it. I have not received any documentation in the mail regarding debts. And I also don't remember creating any debts that I didn't pay off, or unpaid store cards. I would be really interested in knowing what debt they think I owe, but I can't respect this debt collection call without something be sent in writing first.

I've gotten several calls from this number, I didn't answer at first because the caller ID says Vietnam. I answered earlier today and no one spoke so I hung up. about five minutes ago I answered and after saying hello several times a man with a foreign accent asked for me, I asked him to identify himself and he said he was calling from AMA. I don't trust this and will be blocking these calls from now on as I believe it's some sort of scam.

Very difficult to understand haha. Claiming to be with the federal government. Attempted to reach me once an hour before I blocked the number. Will ask for personal information. Scam. From Auburn, WA?

This ignorant idoits contiuosly call its getting pathetic, this have been happening for 2 weeks now going on to three, this is going to end. I am so glad I finally decided to research the number and all you wonderful people listed your problems as well. I got the same credit card interest rate scammer message as other people. If you call the number back it says the number is not in service or disconnected. To me that is prove enough that this is a scammer. Nothing legit about he caller at all. I've heard the FTC is always looking for new ways to specifically stop this caller.

I had this number saved on my contacts under prudential. Dont really remember the last call because I dont really entertain calls like this. Then days after, they called again. To save battery, i answered right away to let them know that im not interested to cut the call right away but got confused when the lady told me shes from bpi.
She was asking me for my birthdate. I have doubts so I told her im not comfortable giving infos over the phone. She told me i should update my infos by calling 89-100. Weird. Do bpi ... Read More

I have been receiving as many as 5 calls per day. They are trying to collect a debt on Basic Talk. I don't have Basic Talk and never did.
I answered the first, call from them, they asked for a woman's name. I told them that no one with that name lived here. Since then I have been receiving several calls per day. When I answer the just hand-up. I no longer answer the phone.

Same as Gene above: Woman with accent saying she was from Microsoft and that my computer was unstable and about to crash. When I said I don't have a home computer (lie) she hung up on me.

They called to tell me that I could get a $9,200 dollar grant from the US Government, if I come up with account information. I told him or her (Indian accent, young boy or woman) that "I was sorry that you feel that you can't earn a living any other way. I hope you can find a job that lets you sleep at night, instead of stealing.." She/he muttered "F@ck", and hung up.

They've been calling me non stop for 3months. I receive about 3 calls a week from them. I never answer, but of course the one time I did they threatened to have me arrested if I didn't pay them 2400 for a debt I've never heard of. I'm fresh out of high school with no credit cards to my name. I just want them to stop calling me!

I started getting calls from 855 808-0414 yesterday. They called three times from 8:25 am thru 7:13 pm. As stated above, they call like clockwork 8:25 this morning. No message is left, and I am going to block them. I so do not know why they would be calling me.

Been receiving numerous calls from this number for about 1 week now. I never answer calls I don't know and I don't call numbers back that can't leave a message. All previous comments and reports encourage me to keep up my routine for safety and sanity.

A criminal enterprise that uses computers to trick people with automated messages about time sensitive offers for better interest rates on their cards. It's often called the "Rachel from card services scam" which should give you a good list of research links if you google that sentence. Will tell you to press 1 to get the offer. The real card services does not make calls like this for offers as it's a big security risk for fraud. Just received a call from this number on my cell phone. I did not pick it up as I don't answer any call whose number I do not recognize. Good old caller ID,although that can' t be trusted at times.
Like "Alert" above, I also got a call from my own number one day...also not picked up. Most of us know better then to be sucked in by these crooks, but if they try long enough, they will hit on someone that is uninformed, or dumb enough to go along with their crap.

The caller is "Maxlife" and they appear to be an insurance company calling to sell you life insurance policies. If you call them back you will get an automated message that tell you to press 2 to be removed from their calling list. So there is hope to get your number cleared if you would prefer that option. Good luck!!

The caller claims to be "Drs. Kirk and Vale" and they were asking if I had back pain I needed to be addressed. They wanted to sell me cream products to help relieve the pain. No back pain in my household and after reading through all the comments here I am very suspicious of this caller being a spoofer (fake number) to sell counterfeit products. Blocking is activated now.

I have been getting these calls, 3 or 4 a day, for a week at my home in VA. Caller ID says it's from Basic Talk. I decided to call the number to tell the company I don't need a good phone deal, assuming that it was Basic Talk. The automated answering message said Midland Credit Mgmt. Using a real company to cover the truth. Still blocking the number.

Responded to Alison Wagner's Roomster ad. Was sent some long broken English email reply. If you did a street view of 146 Hester Street you'll notice the email has attached photos of a living room with a balcony showing an outside that doesn't match that location.
Sent a red flag to me in the first paragraph alone.

I received a message from Apple saying that I had a bug in my phone and I should call the number to fix it. When I did, the person demanded 39.99 in order to fix it or my phone's data would be deleted... It sounded fishy to me so I backed up my phone. I called back, but he still demanded the money... And his accent sounded fake (but maybe that's me).

I got a call from this number to advise me that the IRS was going to file a lawsuit against me for unpaid taxes and fines. They said I was guilty of tax evasion and needed to pay them immediately. What's incredible about them is they would ask me to pay them with prepaid cards from local stores which is so obviously not how the government operates that I had to laugh at the caller.

If you call this number back you will get an automated message that tells you to press 2 to be removed from their list. It will first tell you that that are US Auto Care so the identity of the caller listed in previous comments is true. It's definitely trying to sell you car insurance.

Life Line Screening calling me, which is unusual as I have not used their services for over 10 years. Found it rather odd that they would keep my contact information for that long. In my case I had to get both mine and my husband's name removed from their database in order to stop the calls completely as they were calling us both individually.

This is GE Money Bank. This is a debt collection call. If may a late payment they are calling you like 6 times a day. Really annoying. I am going to pay off my balance and then cancel the card. Getting a new credit card. Too annoying to keep putting up with this kind of treatment. Charge me interest and stop calling me.

This is just a ruse to con you into entering your cc# into the phone and allowing them to bill you hundreds of dollars. This is a big scam that the service NoMoRobo was invented to try to reduce. The automated message offered me a new lower rate and told me to press 1 to be connected to an operator. Sounds suspicious to me as my credit card company usually sends me mail with new offers or makes the offer when I call them directly myself. The only time they have ever called me was to offer me payment protection or insurance plans for the card which doesn't require any card# verification to attain since they already know who you are.
